We photographed, filmed and interviewed a variety of individuals connected to these lands to help build a story of why protecting this part of the world is increasingly important to not only the populations who value it but also for climate mitigation.

Caja Del Rio, New Mexico

This was a collaboration with Conservation Lands Foundation and New Mexico Wild to create visual content for a StoryMap advocating for protection of the public lands outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. This area is important to the Pueblo people of the surrounding areas as well as traditional Hispano communities. Photographs, footage and interviews were conducted over several weeks to create the media included in the StoryMap and campaign to Protect the Caja.

“In order for this landscape to be protected for future generations, we have to shift our managerial paradigm.”

Julia Fay Bernal

Shorts for Storymap.

These interview vignettes help to connect the public to who values the Caja del Rio and why it should be protected for the years to come.
